That's totally okay! Most of my clients are coming to counselling for the very first time.
You don't need to know what to say or have everything figured out before you arrive. That's my job to help you with.
We'll simply start where you are. Some people arrive with a clear goal, while others just know that something doesn't feel quite right. Both are completely okay.
Yes. I offer both in-person sessions in Rotorua and online counselling via Zoom for clients throughout New Zealand.
Online sessions can be just as effective as meeting in person and offer flexibility if you're juggling work, parenting, or live outside Rotorua.

No. You can book an appointment directly with me.
The relationship between you and your counsellor is one of the biggest predictors of positive change. It's important that you feel safe, comfortable, and like you can be yourself!
I always encourage people to trust their gut. If we feel like a good fit, wonderful. If not, that's completely okay too. Finding the right counsellor is important, and I'm always happy to help point you in the direction of someone who may be a better match if needed.
For this reason, I offer a free 15 minute discovery call to ensure we're a good fit. Hit the "Book now" button to book yours in.
Counselling isn't just for people in crisis!
You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, burnt out, navigating a life transition, struggling in relationships, or simply wanting to understand yourself better.
I work with women experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, perinatal mental health, relationship with food and body, trauma, self-esteem, identity, and the many changes that come with motherhood and life.
Whatever brings you here, you don't have to have it all figured out before reaching out.
Life happens, and I completely understand that plans sometimes change!
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, I simply ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice where possible. This allows me the opportunity to offer your appointment to someone else who may be waiting.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments, may incur the full session fee (unless due to exceptional circumstances).
I've been working as a counsellor for over 6 years.
My career began as a Guidance Counsellor at a girls' high school, before moving into community mental health with Real Youth Services.
These roles gave me the opportunity to support young people experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges before establishing my private practice, She Blooms Counselling.
Today, I primarily work with women, supporting them through life's seasons.
Yes. Confidentiality is a really important part of counselling.
What you share with me stays between us, with a few legal and ethical exceptions.
These include situations where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else, concerns about the safety of a child or vulnerable person, or if records are required by law.
If confidentiality ever needed to be broken, I will always discuss this with you first wherever possible.
Yes. I hold both Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance.
